Nabemono

nabemono

Nabe or Nabemono is a Japanese one pot dish, served in winter. It is cooked at the table, on a portable electric skillet. The ingredients used can vary, and so can the soup. This time we had a konbu (seaweed), salt, sake, chicken broth and soy sauce soup.We used pork, hakusai (Chinese cabbage), silk tofu, moyashi (bean sprouts), nira (garlic chives), enoki mushrooms and negi (leek).

In the end we added some cooked rice in the leftover soup and an egg.

It was delicious and very good for keeping you warm during the cold winter!
