Salată orientală/Romanian Potato Salad

salata orientala

As you can see, we Romanians love potatoes and have so many kinds of potato salads that I’m running out of names in English🙂. Here I have another one, this time not an appetizer, but a side dish. It is usually served cold, especially in summer and it also makes for a delicious vegetarian dish.

It is really easy to make, and you can adjust the amounts according to your preference.

So, here’s what you need: potatoes, onion (preferably red) and salad oil.

Boil potatoes, peel and slice. Thinly slice onion and mix with potatoes. Add salad oil and salt to taste.

Garnish with olives.
