Stuffed Green Peppers/Ardei umpluţi

Ingrediente

12 ardei

400 gr. carne tocată (de vită şi porc)

1 ceapă

1 ou

sare, piper, mărar

50 gr. orez

foi dafin

1/2 lingură zahăr

bulion

smântână

Ingredients

12 green bell peppers

400 g ground meat (pork and beef)

1 onion

1 egg

salt, pepper, dill weed

50 g rice

bay leaves

1/2 tbsp sugar

tomato sauce

sour cream

Mod de preparare

Se scot cotoarele şi seminţele ardeilor.

Se taie ceapa mărunt şi se amestecă cu carnea, oul, orezul, mărarul şi se potriveşte de sare şi piper.

Se umplu ardeii (nu chiar de tot, deoarece orezul se mai umflă când fierbe), apoi se fierb în apă cu sare şi foi de dafin până s-au fiert carnea şi orezul.

La final eu am adaugat bulion şi zahăr; nu îmi place să fac sos cu făină, ci prefer sa-i servesc cu smântână.

How to make

Remove stems and seeds from the peppers.

Dice onion and mix with meat, egg, rice, dill. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Fill the peppers with the meat mixture (not completely, as the rice will expand while cooking), then boil in salted water with bay leaves until meat and rice are cooked.

When they are cooked, I add sugar and tomato sauce. I don’t like to make a sauce with flour, instead I prefer to serve them with sour cream.
